P1
Task 1

Title Of Film
In both of these posters, the producers have included the Title of the Films (Insomnia in a font which looks like blood) and (Insidious in a font which is white and red). Having this element on the poster is good because clearly stating the film title will help the viewers know the film name so they can tell others about it.
Also, in terms of selling a product to an audience, knowing the title of the product is priority, so including this makes the poster professional and makes it worth investing into.
Protagonist
In both of these posters, the producers have clearly included images of the Protagonists (Insomnia has a photo of a man in black and white) and (Insidious has a photo of a little boy). Having this element on the poster is good because clearly having a large image of the protagonist in the centre of the poster makes the poster eye-catching.
This can overall lead to the audience instantly investing their money into watching the film because having visual elements on an advertisement is more attractive than a sheet of lots of text.
Tagline
In both of these posters, the producers have included a Tagline (Insomnia - "Don't let sleep overtake you") and (Insidious - "It's not the house that's haunted"). Having this element on the poster is good because it helps the viewers remember at least a small portion of the film, so for example, if they haven't watched the film in a while, they can still remember the film by hearing or reading the tagline.
Credits
In both of these posters, the producers have included credits directly underneath the images of the protagonists. Having this element on the poster is good because it makes the poster professional because giving credits to the people involved with the production ensures there are no problems (such as copyright), which is a professional thing to do in my opinion because taking copyright into consideration means there is a less of a chance for the company to lose money from being sued.
Past film production
For the Insidious poster, there is a small section above the protagonist's image which tells the viewers film production which has been produced in the past. ("From the makers of paranormal activity and saw"). Having this element on the poster is good because if the viewers enjoyed the films which have been produced in the past, this will instantly attract people to invest in watching the film.
Release date
In both of these posters, the producers have included, the producers have included release dates, however for the insomnia poster, this isn't as noticeable as the insidious poster (Insomnia - "Coming soon") and (Insidious - "May 12"). Having this element on the poster is good because this will ensure that the viewers are fully aware of when the film is released, so that they can be prepared to buy the tickets.
Also, having this element makes the poster professional, because it shows everyone that the producers are organised and are serious about the film.
Significant names
For the Insidious poster, there are 3 significant names directly above the credits. ("Patrick Wilson", Rose Byron", "Barbara Hershey"). Having this element on the poster is good because if the viewers know who these people are and like them as individuals, this will instantly ensure they will invest themselves in watching the film.
(These significant names are the stars of the film)
Task 2
Task 3
Character
Name: Anne Johnson
Age: 19
Interests: Art and Photography
Film
Genre: Horror
Brief synopsis
Anne wants to seek revenge by killing parents for ruining her life. Because of them, she was forced to do subjects at school which she didn't want to do, which lead to depression, overdose of drugs and losing her mind. She ends up killing her parents but gets caught at the end - jailed for life.
Task 4
Task 5
I think that the font 'Scare Arms' is the most effective font, because having the font fade away can be a visual representation of Anne fading away from the world by going through depression and having the habit of overdosing.
Task 6
After analysing these 3 posters, I have learnt that only using a small selection of colours (mainly dark toned) is more effective than using a wide range of colours which don't particularly go well together, because this makes the poster overall look more professional and well put together.
Task 7
1) I chose this combination by being inspired from the 'Friday The 13th' poster. This inspired me, because the use of dark tones reflects the genre of horror nicely as well as clearly tell the investors that the film is horror - this can instantly help them decide whether to invest their money or not.
2) I chose this combination by being inspired from the 'Stranger things' poster. This inspired me, because the use of dark tones reflects the genre of horror nicely as well as clearly tell the investors that the film is horror - this can instantly help them decide whether to invest their money or not.
3) I chose this combination of colours because I felt that these colours can reflect the genre of horror in a nice way and also tell the audience that perhaps the location of the film will be based around nature and greenery (Doing this tells the viewers a bit more about the film visually).
4) I chose this combination of colours because I felt that these colours can reflect the genre of horror but in an indirect way, which can make the experience for the audience more interesting (The colours are dark toned however they are unexpected colours to use for a horror poster which creates an atmosphere for the viewers which is unexpected and interesting).
5) I chose this combination of colours because I felt that this combination of dark colours can reflect the genre of horror in a nice way as well as clearly tell the investors that the film is horror - this can instantly help them decide whether to invest their money or not.
6) I chose this combination of colours because I felt that this combination in particular can reflect the genre of horror but in a way which is unexpected, since this combination of colours in particular is unexpected.
Task 8
CONTACT SHEET FROM PHOTO SHOOT
Task 9
For this task, I recreated the poster 'Alien' in the style of the poster 'The Conjuring'.
